Chicagoland Jobs: highest paid positions

U.S.A. Illinois

Published

Hello nurses and healthcare members,

I was curious to find out what are some of the highest paid RN positions for the BSN prepared nurse with 5 years experience. Three years progressive care (step down) and one year ICU experience. In Louisville, KY, jobs such as RN float are paid more to the hour, weekend only RN's are paid more (used to be paid 36hrs for only working 24 (but you know how that went)). One healthcare system has a starting pay of $43/hr to float between their 3 hospitals (all within 5 miles of each other)... Those familiar with Chicago, are their jobs available with high pay rates? What should I be searching/looking for.

Thanks!

Logan

I'd say around $34-$35. Chicago oversaturated though and cost of living very high. I'm from Corbin, KY area originally. When my kid graduates, I'm out of Illinois. Flex pay $45-$52

Thank you for the reply! Yeah it's bit of a bummer to see that.. I'm thinking it'd be hard for me to make any sort of good savings by being single and living/working in the city there. It's crazy how much smaller cities offer more money than Chicago. But I love Chicago!
