Going back to ICC after finally realizing that I want to pursue nursing. Will have to go through pre-reqs again as I messed up my first year there. Debating on taking a BIOL 140 that's towards an LPN program or just go a head and take BIOL 145/146 that's towards the RN program as I will be pushing for an RN degree down the line. Advice?
BIOL 140 - Human Anatomy & Physiology
BIOL 145 - Principles of Anatomy & Physiology I
BIOL 146 - Principles Anatomy & Physiology II
(forgot to state that)

Hi misscriss90,
There are a number of options available to you depending on your situation...if you're looking to get your LPN soon, taking BIO 140 may be the way to go. (For an LPN, you would need both BIO 145 and 146 to substitute for 140).
A good starting point would definitely be to set up an appointment with your advisor. They'll be able to help answer your questions based on your short/long term goals for your education. Call (309)999-4600 to get an appointment today!

I think if you know for sure you want to become an RN sometime down the line you may as well just go straight for RN. However, if you really are in desperate need of finishing earlier, then by all means go for your LPN.
If you choose to go through the LPN-RN bridge at ICC, I believe you need 1 year experience under your belt. That will add more time before you can go through the RN program.
Since you do plan on furthering your plans, it'd be better to just go through 145/146 since that's one less class.
Good luck.
