Yes, I understand that I need to be very careful with the accusations. nd this is not a accusation whatsoever.These nurses did not hold a nursing degree from USA; their degree is from mother country and they have gone thru CES and TOEFL, the fact is that for some states the TOEFL score is lower than the one that CGFNS requires for VSC, so since they had SS# issued for anyother reason and hold the USA nursing license; they managed to aplly for job and get it.

This is "while" they are waiting for VSC be issued ( they say). This is; sure enough, not accusation. When I said F-1 visa is not necesary to understand they were studying nursing, or they hold a OPT permit.

one can work without a Visa Screen Certificate but it has to be submitted to US immigration once they ask for it.....if not submitted, the pending greencard will be denied.....

And, yes that is my point. Not employer petition, not application for I-140, so things have been doing wrong. The fact is; they aplly for the job, got it; showed proof of documentos to work in USA as nurse : just nursing license, SS#, Valid driver's license and not a word that they are not usa citizen. As I said it is not an accusation; it is a situacion I see people do.

I am not saying I am doing this; nor I approve it whatsoever.It is wrong and people think can go by this without getting a bad outcome. :nono: :nono:

I would leave it alone as well unless they are unsafe in their practice and then it would be up to the supervisor to note that and decide how to proceed. I can understand venting about people who skirt the law, but really it isn't your business and unless you are POSITIVE you know all of the facts reporting them may cause you more grief than them.

This got my attention: I know some nurses who passed the NCLEX-RN and got a SS# thru school because in the past they were holding a F-1 visa, other are on a H 4 visa and also passed NCLEX-RN, so they just applied for a position in a hospital and when they were asked if they were legally authorized to work in the USA they put Yes.

They say that IRS and immigration do not share information, so they will easily get thru the process of getting a GC when they become available. and these nurses get they VSC which is a big issue for them because they haven't passed either TOEFL or IELTS. :nono:

I am sure that when they eventually go to immigration to ask for a permanent or temporary working visa, they will be penalized for how they are working now. :trout: :trout: :trout:

:angryfire What would you do if you knew about an illegal foreign nurse, who has forged her documentation and took the NCLEX, yet never had to pay as I did, incorporating huge loans and when reported to the Hosp. Admin, was completely ignored Yet, I was able with one phone call able to verify that she worked as a Psych. nurse in the UK and never practiced Med. nursing or is elligible to practice as a Med. Nurse. I think the Hosp. is covering up?

She is illegal and it was so easy to verify.I called the NMC(Nurses Midwifery Board), UK's governing body. Her name,DOB,etc and I was able to ascertain she only trained as an RMN and never a SRN or RGN. I was even told that her transcripts are at Thames Valley University and given the number. She is listed as a foreign trained nurse at her state board's site and her state board says that a UK RMN dosen't have the required hours or experience or qualification to sit for the CGFNS or obtain an RN Cert. She is now the manager of a CCU with only a diploma and of course I am peeved,

H4 visa holders do not get a SSN#, they were not under the F-1 and then not the OPT or CPT. Sorry, but they will be caught and deported. If they did attend school in the US and graduated from a program in the US then they do not need to take the English exams, those are waivied for them.

But the hospital that did not verify their status is employing illegals, and that is what it comes down to. And they can be heavily fined. I am an American, and I still need to provide proof that I can legally work in the US, with a passport, or something else like that. And the SSN# that they were given, states right on the front of it that it requires proof that they can work, and that the SSN# card alone is not to be accepted as proof.

They do not go to immigration, their petitions need to be submitted by their employer, and then the employer gets caught at what they have been doing.

And if they get stopped for anything, they still do not have legal proof to be in the US at this time. Their F-1 status is over, and they can be deported.

And they need to be reported. If they are willing to do this with the US government, what will they be willing to cheat and lie about when caring for a patient.

This is of the reasons I am concerned. Her lies and deception how far do they stretch and how much compromise do they implicate? How many people can be hurt if exposed. Do you wonder why there is a cover up!

How long ago did she train as a RMN as she may have gotten her hours during her training as all do a foundation course which can cover all she needs. She must have met criteria to be allowed to sit NCLEX and also get a job. I am sure that checks where done to check her status and sure she wouldn't be a manager without relevant qualifications and legal work visa

Whatever your problem is OP get over it! As SD said the old style RMN training does have enough hours for the US, if she wasn't good at her job she wouldn't be there & so what if she "only" has a diploma??? I don't even have that - I trained pre degree/diploma & I still had a good enough training for CGFNS & the US BON where I applied plus I passed N-CLEX 1st time. Am I worse than you because I don't have those letters after my name??

If you want to complain to your management then go ahead & do it but I somehow think it'll be you that ends up with egg on your face. If not then you'll have done your workplace a favour & I will retract much of what I've said, except the degree thing! :-)

Sorry if I've upset you. But this isn't about you. Please understand, by our State's board regs., it is our duty to report this and she dosen't have enough hours or experience to be even elligible to sit for the NCLEX. Also if a mistake was to occur and you as a nurse was involved, where does that leave you or your insurance etc.
