illegal

:angryfire What would you do if you knew about an illegal foreign nurse, who has forged her documentation and took the NCLEX, yet never had to pay as I did, incorporating huge loans and when reported to the Hosp. Admin, was completely ignored Yet, I was able with one phone call able to verify that she worked as a Psych. nurse in the UK and never practiced Med. nursing or is elligible to practice as a Med. Nurse. I think the Hosp. is covering up?

:welcome:

How do you know that her info is forged? Did she tell you?

Maybe it isn't forged and that's why managment is turning a blind eye?

I dunno. Need more info.

I don't think verifying information on a foreign nurse would be that easy. If she's illegal, how would you know what her real name is unless she told you? If she is illegal, are you sure she graduated from nursing school? If she's divorced, her name may have been different. Some people also, if they have a complicated last name, change it when they come to the states.

That's a problem that's bigger than me. I would turn it over to our Human Resorces department and let them handle it.

How do you know they forged their qualification? For them to sit the NCLEX they have to complete all sorts of things including getting her transcript evaluated before the BON will allow them to sit NCLEX. Just because they worked as a RMN in the UK they may whilst doing their training have met all requirements as a foreign nurse for the US. If they trained in the UK then they do not always incorporate large loans especially if they trained a several years ago. For example I was trained at my hospital school of nursing and was paid to do the course and work. Now the training is done in local universities and most can recieve a bursary although their are exceptions and also can get student loans. To me your post sounds a bit like sour grapes but if you are really concerned surely there are procedures you can follow with your state BON??

Hi, I would be very careful on this. I am a foreign nurse myself and I KNOW how difficult it was to deal with the CGFNS to get all my certificates. You need these certificates to take the NCLEX and to obtain a work permit/visa in the USA. The Cgfns will only accept documents directly from your nursing school , not from you. These are not easy people to deal with. This nurse might be telling you stories just to get attention. But if you still feel strongly about this you can report her to the Board of Nursing in your State so they can look into this further.Good Luck.

There is no requirement that a foreign nurse work in med-surg before being permitted to work in the US. They only have to have completed transcripts that included the required hours. And they also need a Visa Screen Certificate before being issued a Visa Screen Certificate.

Many countries do not have the huge fees that you have had for school. But I would not point fingers unless you have actual proof, and that she does not have huge loans does not mean a thing.

My school was $1000 per year..............

Please be very careful in accusing someone like this without any valid proof, and how is she illegal? She is working at your facility, meaning that she was given a visa by US Immigration, as well as a SSN#.

You can end up being the one in trouble for slander. You have no proof of anything. And many of the RMNs from the UK are in the US working and they met the requirements for licensure.

Also many UK RMN's did their general training first, especially if they qualified before the new degree course. I agree you can't go pointing fingers like that without any concrete evidence. There are truly so many hoops to jump through before being able to practice in the USA that I can't see how you can possibly forge everything and not be found out.

This got my attention: I know some nurses who passed the NCLEX-RN and got a SS# thru school because in the past they were holding a F-1 visa, other are on a H 4 visa and also passed NCLEX-RN, so they just applied for a position in a hospital and when they were asked if they were legally authorized to work in the USA they put Yes.

These nurses are foreigners with not a working visa , but they hold a valid SS# and NCLEX-RN passers, valid driver's license ,and hospitals did not ask them for anything else. I knew this from one of them; indeed, this person encourage me to do the same, BUT this is not correct.:angryfire :angryfire :angryfire :angryfire :angryfire

They say that IRS and immigration do not share information, so they will easily get thru the process of getting a GC when they become available. and these nurses get they VSC which is a big issue for them because they haven't passed either TOEFL or IELTS. :nono: :nono: :nono:

I am sure that when they eventually go to immigration to ask for a permanent or temporary working visa, they will be penalized for how they are working now. :trout: :trout: :trout:

One doesn't need to tale toefl if he or she studied nursing in the states. Again be very careful with ur accusations.

Yes, I understand that I need to be very careful with the accusations. nd this is not a accusation whatsoever. These nurses did not hold a nursing degree from USA; their degree is from mother country and they have gone thru CES and TOEFL, the fact is that for some states the TOEFL score is lower than the one that CGFNS requires for VSC, so since they had SS# issued for anyother reason and hold the USA nursing license; they managed to aplly for job and get it.

This is "while" they are waiting for VSC be issued ( they say). This is; sure enough, not accusation. When I said F-1 visa is not necesary to understand they were studying nursing, or they hold a OPT permit.

They are trying to outsmart law. Employers can also be in trouble for hiring an illegal worker without proper documents. They are required to check the passport/citizenship/EAD and Social security card.
