IL Licensure Inquiries

Published

Hello everyone! I am a graduate of nursing in the Philippines and I have already passed the Nclex-RN. I am applying for Illinois. Now my question is that my CES report has already been expired and now do i need to renew it or what? When I checked the website of CGFNS for the CES, I found out that there are now only two types of report, and that there is no report which the IL BON requires. I called the IL BON and said that they still require the report which the CGFNS does not have anymore. What should I do now? I am really confused on what to do? And do I also need to take a TOEFL exam? What else should I do since I am an internationally educated nurse?

Thank you so much for the time.

I don't think there's an expiration on CES reports (and I maybe wrong), unless you gained more credentials that CGFNS needs to evaluate.

I took this from CGFNS website. I don't know if this is applicable to you, but this is the closest I can think of. IL BON requires the basic CES (the previous Healthcare Profession and Science report). But since CGFNS changed their types of report, I would for sure go with the Professional Report.

If I need to send a copy of my CES report to another recipient at a later date, must I go through the entire process again?

You need to apply for the Professional Report Re-evaluation through your online account at www.cgfns.org/cerpassweb/login.jsp. If the recipient is a school, you need to make an initial application for an Academic Report. A re-evaluation can not be from one kind of CES report to the other.

And of course, you can contact IL BON and CGFNS.

Thank you so much for the reply. I have one more question, I hope you don't mind.. do I also need to take a TOEFL exam?

That will be up to the BON and should state something on their website, alternatively you could contact them and ask
