That is what the administrator of "Renown" (the facility formerly known as Washoe Medical Center) is ALLEGED to have said to a group of doctors and their wives two weeks ago. Unfortunately for Jim Miller, some of those spouses were (surprise!) nurses.
What do we know about Jim Miller? We know his background is in financial management. So OF COURSE he'd like to dump the most expensive segment of the facility's personnel budget.
We also know the guy is the naked emperor whose "Renown" Robes are the laughing stock of Northern Nevada. (The "Rebranding" is rumored to have run 13 million dollars so far.)
Don't you love it? Spend millions to put new lipstick on the pig, but malign the very people that keep him in pork-chops.
I am currently checking second and third sources to make sure my information is correct. If he said this about nurses... it should be shouted abroad so that poor Jim can get his wish. A lot of money is being poured into St. Mary's by Catholic Hospitals West, their new owner. Maybe we should be standing in line to work there.

Got all excited(or maybe it was an anxiety attack) when I saw the name MILLER. At first I thought it was the Miller that owns UHS based out of King Of Prussia,Pa.. But, alas, it was not. Just wondering if they are related.
Or are all CEO's and owners of hospitals morons. I imagine ALAN MILLER making the comment "if I could I'de run this hospitaal without nurses". "Renown Robes" and "King of Prussia" smack of [evil]bosom buddies[/evil]. And, if your aware of the fight down in Las Vegas at Desert Springs Hosp. and Vallery Hosp. to keep their union(SEIU), the unions colors are purple and yellow. My name tag collar and buttons would match and I would never have to buy purple scrubs again if I worked at Renown. Maybe its all a cowinkadink.
