If I have a 2.75 GPA in my nursing prereqs, would it be in my best interest to do a LVN program and then after that apply to an LVN to RN program? I am just worried that my GPA is not high enough and that I could be waiting forever to be accepted into an RN program, if even ever accepted! I appreciate your advice, thank you!

It depends on many factors that you must to into account, such as the length of the wait list at your college/university, the higher GPAs, what route you want to go, if you rather bridge LPN to RN, the pre-reqs that may not be acceptable to go into LPN (there may be some credits that don't go towards the LPN program, or some classes you may have to take as an LPN pre-req...I know at my college, the pre-reqs are almost 100% different from the pre-reqs in our LPN program) so on and so forth. Typically, LPN programs have a less hectic/shorter wait list (going by the colleges in my area), but it's still there. Both are very competitive. The lowest GPA you can have for our LPN program is 2.75, along with a PSB score of 230 or higher. Maybe you could talk to your adviser, express your concerns and the route you are thinking about taking and see if she can help guide you from there. :) Good luck, if this is your passion, don't ever give up!
