The requirements will vary by state and hospital. To be a flight nurse you must have at least 3-5 years ICU or ER experience as well as certifications in ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, NRP and often have a national certification such as CCRN or CEN. There are only a few states that require RN's to be EMT-P's, although prehospital experience is helpful. Check out http://www.flightweb.com
it's the best site out there. Good luck.
One thing you could do is contact a local Trauma center and see if they do ride-alongs, this way you could actually ride-along during a shift and really see what flight nursing is all about. I hope you have a trauma center close to you that you will be able to do this, not all trauma center flight programs allow ride alongs.
I would recommend going to the Seaox Website. It's maintained by a flight nurse in Florida and has lots of information.

Could someone tell me a little bit more about flight nursing. This sounds very interesting, and I don't know anything about it. How do I get started, what degree do I need, what's it like, etc. I would really appreciate if someone could clue me in on flight nursing! It sounds great.
