How do I become an RN who may teach IV therapy/certification to others?
I do not know where to get the training, or what the requirements are. I live in Colorado. I work as a DON and would like to provide this training to my staff. thanks

I suppose my first question would be to ask if Colorado has a state mandated program for IV therapy. Do your LPN's have to attend a formal program to work with IV's? If so, then the state will have the Instructor and Student manual and usually, all you have to do is apply to the state, provide them with information regarding your facility and the classroom ( its size, proximity to bathroom, lunch room etc) and provide them with your curriculum vitae and possibly money to register and monies for the books. When approved, then classes can commence.
If you do not have a state mandated program, you could put one together by gathering the information from your state as to the legal aspects of what each discipline can do (RN vs LPN), A&P, types of lines and their differences, care and maintenance of IV catheters, medication therapy types i.e. TPN, Blood and Blood products, Chemotherapy, etc. , Labs and therapuetic drug monitoring.
Hands on should include: placement of short term peripheral IV catheters, sterile central line dressing changes, tubing and IV calculations.
Your program should be submitted to an organization such as NAPNES or your state board of nursing for contact hour approval.
Hope this helps.
