So last week I posted that I heard through the grapevine that The University OF MA was looking to start an CRNA program and I wanted see if there was truth to it. I asked in my post if there was a website that listed schools who are seeking to gain accreditation because you can find out that info on the web regarding nursing programs (ADN, BSN) Everyone said to just ask the school so I called and was just told "sorry we do not have a CRNA program" obviously I know that, I have been to their website. I tried to explain to the woman that I understood that but wanted to know if the school was trying to get a program started as I had heard, she had no idea. I know at my school now the person that answers the phone is usually a secretary, not really up to date on anything you can't find on the website so I decided to send an e-mail to the Dean of Admissions, whose e-mail address is on their website. The e-mail didn't go to the dean, which makes sense I guess the dean would be overwhelmed with all of the questions. Anyway, I clearly wrote in my e-mail that I visited the website and understand that currently there is no CRNA program at the graduate school. But wanted to know if the school was looking into it...bla bla bla. Anyway, I got a one line response. "I am sorry Umass Worcester graduate school does not currently have a CRNA program" I feel likeI am talking to a wall. Anyway, I am just frustrated but I suppose if they start a program I will eventually hear about it, even if it is too late.
