I was tested on a bunch of med surg material but very little maternal, nutrition, etc.I am graduating in Dec as an RN and if I dont pass this then how can I ever expect to pass the NCLEX-RN. I studied a lot for this but dont feel confident whatso ever. Sorry guys, just had to vent. :o

I'm not so sure that the test shut off at 85 Q's is such a bad sign. It did that for mine and many others I know! I know your feeling about not being too confident. I wasn't either, but I passed! So just keep your head up until you know for sure!!! :)

Everyone in my class who took it and it stopped at 85 passed so don't feel bad yet. You probably did fine. :D

Good luck to you! :)

Let me tell you what happened to me....

I took my exam in June, and honestly, half way through the test I was feeling TOO confident. I laugh at it now, but I literally had to stop testing a focus for a second bcuz I felt like I was doing so well. I was even saying to myself, Hi Nurse Susan. My test shut off at 85 and all my confidence went out the door. Its human nature to assume the worse, or lose confidence until you finally get your results and you know for sure. As I was waiting for my results, a million thoughts went through my mind. I wrote down all the topics I encountered on the test, amazingly I remembered pretty much the whole test, and I said wow I must have done bad. So bad , I thought, that they didnt even bothering wasting their time to test me on SO many topics, I had two nutrition, but no maternity,1 newborn assessment and no other peds.I spoke with the professor whom did the review class I took and she said that itis normal. That they dont test you on every topic so not to assume or feel dissappointed. I dont know how people in CA who have to wait weeks for their results do it, bcuz I was bursting at the seems in the two days I had to wait. But I said to myself right before i got my results, as you should, that no matter what those results are, it doesnt make or break your future as a nurse. And if worse comes to worse, you take it again. Now I can finally say, Nurse Susan, you did it and if not this time around, we will all be able to say that to you as well as all the future test takers.

Either way it goes for you, best of luck and let us all know how you did.

I took my PN NCLEX in 1999. I remember the computer shutting off after 85 questions. I also knew that the last question the computer had asked me I got RIGHT! So, I knew immediately that I had passed.

Here's an interesting story for you.

If you remember taking the LPN-LVN course and you did fairly well by passing most of your exams the first time....even though you achieved barely C or B grades. These are the students who pass the NCLEX..The average student! Believe it or not.

I knew a girl in the army who cheated on all her exams while in 91C school/ LPN school. She recieved all A's on her exams. She walked around with a big head and was always partying. I knew something was fishy about this and asked her when she finds the time to study. She told me that Sunday's were for studying.. Her Sundays consisted of partying off base and I never saw her 'till class time.

She ends up residing within the same city as me in Phoenix. When I saw her at drill I asked her where she was working. She told me, home health. I said, "How much do LPN's make in home health?" She said, "I dont know. I'm a CNA." I said, "Didn't you take the Nclex?" She..."Yes, but I failed it twice."

To this day I dont think she has passed and is probably still just a CNA. See where are tax dollars go?

Hey! I took my test on Saturday and it shut off at 85 questions and I just knew that I had fail. But, this morning i checked the computer and I had passed....So good luck to you......
