I am so mad at myself. I just bombed out on a test that was given for an agency. Why do they give these test in the first place. Anyway, I knew the answer but I just wasn't focused. Uggg! Does this mean I can't work for the agency? Has anyone went through this?

I work for an agency that doesn't require testing or references, they pretty much hire anyone who walks in with a valid license. This was great for me at first since I have under a year of experience. As I have worked for them, I have come to realize that they have some shady practices and are not a company I want to work for longer than I need to for experience.
I have met nurses from other agencies that have standards for their employees, including testing, experience, and references. I actually want to work for one of these agencies since their employees seem happier and they know their company is actually taking care of them.
I understand what you are saying about testing since most regular jobs don't require this to hire on. At the same time, at least you know you've applied to a company that cares about the quality of their employees. If it turns out you didn't pass the test, you could approach them again and explain that you have test anxiety but would really appreciate another chance to prove yourself since you really want to work there. Good luck.
Thanks everyone for your responses. I was able to re-take the test and passed. Thanks again for your help.:nuke:
