Has anyone that works nights called in sick because they hadn't had enough sleep? I've been up since 5:30 am and I usually nap before I go in and I can't relax. I feel tired but can't fall asleep. I have the fan on to block out noise, it's dark in my room, and I drank some milk.
I just have a lot on my mind and don't know what to do! The more I worry about being tired the more I can't sleep. I'm seriously thinking about calling in.
Any thoughts?

I am doing better, thanks for asking! I had a rough time this summer but after that I think I figured out what works best for me. Ambien makes me feel loony but Rozerem works nicely and Benedryl puts me out like a light. I don't have to use sleepers as much.
I would like to go back to school next summer or fall so I'll either be looking for a part time night position or switch to days. I think I've realized that I'm just tolerating nights and I miss day shift.
