Allnurses has been a great resource for me through out my time in school and while preparing to take the NCLEX. I graduated in May and took the NCLEX on Thursday. Today I can thankfully say I passed!! I just wanted to share my experience in hopes that it can ease others nerves before going into the NCLEX.
I used ATI to prepare, and got the green light two days before I took the exam. I found the modules helpful, but honestly once I started the exam I felt like I knew nothing. I also used the phone app NCLEX Mastery, and reviewed the study guide floating around this site. I ended up answering about 220 questions (can't remember exactly). I only got 10 SATA and a lot of my classmates were telling me how many they were getting so I was nervous that I was doing really bad throughout the test! Especially because I was guessing on a lot of them. It took me about two and a half hours to take the test, and that was including one break. The last question I answered was a SATA and I was pretty confident that I got that one right. Most of my questions were about prioritization and delegation. Once I got out of the test I was a nervous wreck, and assumed that I had failed. The proctor of the exam told me something like "I have your results, good luck in your profession," and hinted that I had passed but I was so out of it that I didn't really understand what he said until later.
When I got home I did the Pearson Vue trick and got the bad pop-up, but I had read that it wasn't really accurate anymore. I took it at 2PM on Thursday and on Saturday at 2PM the quick results were available on Pearon Vue and it said I passed! I'm so relieved!
Good luck to all the new grads preparing to take the NCLEX!
I got a lot of med surg. I only had a couple psych and OB questions, maybe 5 pharm questions, no psych, no math.. the questions were pretty straight forward. Lots of prioritizing care. I had a couple drag and drop and picture questions but a majority were multiple choice.
