Nurses General Nursing

Hello everyone, i'm new to this forum and i have a question regarding of transfering to university.

I'm very confuse and don't what to do about my grade record. I"m now in Houston atteding 2 years community college for general ed. and requirement coures. Before i already attend 2 years college in CA but i was undecided about my major. While i was there, i did very horrible in college, i have 1 "F" and many "W". I was new to college and didn't have enought discipline, that's why i moved to another state to concentrate on my education.

Now that i'm in Houston, i have done real well in college. I have a good standard in their system. I toke all the classes that they require to transfer.

Now my question is: When i applied for university and they ask to send my official record from all college that i attend, is there anyway i could avoid sending the transcript from my old college. Like i mentioned earlier, i had a very bad grade record with that college, and i don't think the university would be please with it. Another thing is that, those classes that i toke from my old college, none of them applied to my nursing requirement. In a another words, those classes that i toke are useless. I wish i never had any grade record from that college.

Is there anyway i could omit that transcript. If i did and later they find out what would i be facing?.

Thanks,

Hey,

I can see why you want that old transcript to not be an issue because of your poor grades there. The problem is if you omit the transcript, you are essentially falsfifying your application which is very serious. I would not recommend it because the consequences if caught could be bad.

If you're doing well now academically, they will see that you have improved and look upon that favorably.

Definitely don't omit your transcripts! I was in the same boat as you--earned very low grades my first time through college--but I was able to get into a BSN program with no problem. I don't know about where you're applying, but the programs I applied to were only interested in your last 30 units as far as GPA is concerned. It most likely won't hurt you to submit them, but if you don't, it could definitely hurt you. I know of two people who were dismissed from a local university this past year for "hiding" past transcripts like this. Just submit ALL your transcripts, and good luck!

I was also in your shoes, I did not submit that transcript because none of the courses I had taken were applicable to the degree I was now pursuing. I don't know what trouble you can get into, I had no problems, however I would tell you to consult the guidance councelor at the college, thats what I did when I went to apply to the school. At any rate I stayed at that college for one year got all A's then transferred to another college which only accepted the credits applicable to my degree so all those F's and W's were of no consequence. Best of luck to you
