Hello my name is Ishani and I am a pre-nursing student. I want to be a Family Nurse practitioner. so here is my story.

I went to Stony Brook for 4 years thinking I wanted to be a dentist because both of my parents are dentists and they really pushed me. I had no interest and because of this I was not motivated at all. I left Stony Brook with a GPA of 2.21. After I came back home and started working at a front desk in a urgent care clinic. I became great friends with the Nurse Practitioner on duty and I began to shadow her. I immediately fell in love with the field and I knew I needed to get my act together. I needed to finish my bachelors, so I enrolled at SUNY Purchase and I've been here for the past three years, taking science classes ( re-taking classes I did poorly in) and taking other pre-reqs and upper level sciences. So far I have a 3.2 gpa but I want to raise it to a 3.4 before I graduate. I will apply to an accelerated BSN program in New York. And after I will apply to a Family Nurse Practitioner program. My question is that will the Nurse Practitioner programs look at my Stony Brook GPA ? Or will they just look at the gpa I recieved from my Accelerated BSN program ? I am confused

And another question, should I enroll in a FNP-MSN or FNP-DNP program ? I want to be a Family Nurse Practitioner and work in a medical office.

Yea but I wanna know, what gpa will they look at, on SUNY Downstate NP program it says you need a cumulative of a 3.0. Is that just your accelerated bsn degree ? Or will they also include the Stony Brook grades ?

If it's SUNY Downstate, I can almost guarantee that is cumulative (including your SB GPA). Downstate has very tough admission standards.
