Hello I am currently attending washtenaw community college in ann arbor mi and am done with all gen eds and pre-reqs for their nursing program but I now have to wait 2 years on a waiting list. I was hoping to find a LPN program i could get into right away. I want to go some where accredited, a legit program. I also have a 8 month old son so i need to accommodate those needs. I wanted to see if someone could give me a success story maybe a LPN who finished at a school around my area (within 1 hour) who now has a great job and was beyond happy with there lpn program? please let me know i am struggling to find something legit. I looked into toledeo school of practical nursing, PSI, and athena academy, all in ohio. Maybe someone graduated there recently and has good news for me? PLEASE HELP!!!!
THANK YOU!

Hi K. Fountain,
I too am currently at Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor. i just finished up my summer classes there. But, because of the 2 year wait there is why I am leaving Michigan and going to Cincinnati for my RN program starting next month Aug 20, 2012. But if you are looking into a LPN program close to you check out:
Nexcare Training Insitute in Westland, Mi on Joy Rd between Middlebelt and Inkster RD. This school is about a 30 min drive from Lakeshore Apartments in Ypsilanti, Mi where I live at currently. I went to Nexcare for my CNA and currently work there at the Nursing home as a CNA. Heard good things from this program. Its about 16K for the program plus addition 1500 for books and the pre req for the class is A and P 1 and 2 which they offer there now.
You can also try Detroit Business Insitue LPN program down on Jefferson Ave in Detroit.
Monroe community college has a LPN program I believe but dont qoute me on it I can be wrong.
These are the only ones that I know of that is around the Ypsilanti/Ann Arbor area.
