i really need help regarding my job search...

I got here in IL a year ago.. im a BSN graduate of 2008 got my license in 2009 and finally i took the nclex-RN exam last month and YESS i made it!! now the real challenge is getting a Job. To be honest i dont think i have the edge to get a job coz i have nothing to put on my resume aside from passing the NCLEX..

does anybody here that could help me with this issue??

i really need advise

thanks for ur time...

:redbeathe

BTW im from the philippines

Good for you! Congratulations on passing the NCLEX!

I am still applying for NCLEX-RN in Illinois. However, I'm also from the Phils. and from the Class of 2008!

thank you!! it took me 4 months to finish processing coz all my records are in the phil.

but u know what in my own point of view passing the nclex is easier than getting a job specially for someone like me that has no experience... its actually my first week of job hunting and its really tough coz most hospitals are looking for someone that has already axperience...

Good luck with your application....

True! It's a long way to the top as they say. I'm sure that once you get a job (or more), it makes it feel more satisfying because of all the hardships you have to go through. ;)

Are you applying in downtown Chicago? Have you tried other institutions aside from hospitals? They might be more lenient to entry level RNs.

Btw, you might want to enroll in certifications while job hunting (if you haven't yet).

Some hospitals that I looked at has a requirement that the applicant must have or be able to attain at least BLS (basic life support) within certain number of days of acceptance.

Those will be good to see in the resume. BLS and/or ACLS at least.

i actually plan to get BSL and ACLS just to add up in my resume it would be helpful for sure. do you know how much it costs? i live around shaumburg do u know any place around that area where i could enroll?

I didnt try downtown chicago yet coz its really far.. If i cant get a job this month then il try it there.. Do you think home health nurse is great too?

Nice! Schaumburg is a very good area. There's one near Woodfield Mall. It's called Citywide CPR.

I think there's no pain in trying nursing homes or assisted living institutions. At least, you can get in healthcare and gain experience that most hospitals are looking for. At times, it could take long before they even call you in for an interview.

Try looking at Lexington Health Network. I know they have a couple of locations in Schaumburg. An aunt used to work there before (not sure which branch).

I got hired yesterday and told me to get a cpr certificate and i did it today!!

it was actually an on the spot job offer.. IM sooo happy!!!:nurse::nurse:

OMG, congratulations!!! :yeah:

Hi, zenaida!

I'm also here in Schaumburg! Where did you apply? I got hired at Lexington.
