I need help! Can't find Standards of Practice!

Published

Hi Guys,

My 1st day of PN class was Wednesday!:yeah: So far I love it! Our instructor told us to look up the "Standards of Practice", and "Standards of Care" for our next class on Monday. She said that we would find it on www.ncbon.com. Which is the NC Board of Nursing website. I can't find it anywhere on that site! Does anyone know where it is on that site, or maybe another site that would have it?

I would hate to walk into my second class saying, DUHHH I couldn't find it.

disregard.....I misread.

When I went to the website, which is your state board of nursing by the way, there is a link on the left "Practice". If you roll your cursor over it a menu comes up. Click on "LPN" (http://www.ncbon.com/WorkArea/showcontent.aspx?id=1764). The first stuff is administrative licensure and testing law. The standards of practice are at the end in 21 NCAC 36 .0225 COMPONENTS OF NURSING PRACTICE FOR THE LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE. Scroll down to get there. Those are the LPN practice laws of your state. Print them out so you can go into your second class citing chapter and verse! Enjoy your 15 minutes of fame!

You might also want to link into and look at the "Position Statements" and "FAQs" also in the "Practice" menu.
