I need advise on what I should specialize in

U.S.A. Oregon

Hello,

I own a business now going on 3 years called Rogue Valley Personal Assistant. I didn't really plan for this but the majority of my clients are seniors. I assist them with what ever they need (transportation, grocery shopping, laundry, house cleaning, etc.) I want to be educated when dealing with the diagnosis that they are recieving from their doctors so I can be more of a help to them. I am considering getting my CNA. I would love to get my RN however to be honest that would way to demanding on going to nursing school, running a business and having a family of 4 children. Does anyone have any advise for me if I should get my CNA or do you recomend something else. Can I take classes on line?

Any advise is much appreciated!!!

Sincerely,

Sheri

:idea:I would recommend you get your LPN, I am a mother of three I work part time and I go to school. I go to Pioneer pacific College and it is a 13 month program and you go to classes for about six hours four days a week. There are morning, afternoon and evening classes. So it is so do able with a hectic schedule. I have been a CNA for ten years and I would not have known near as much about patient diagnosis and stuff as I am learning by getting my LPN. My goal is to eventually be an RN, but it is alot harder to get your RN with the competitiveness in getting into a program, and more time consuming. So that is why I think an LPN would be a good route for you. I hope this helps. Good Luck!!;)
