I’m struggling

Published

Hi everyone,

so, I need some advice and some honesty. I’ve failed my HESI entrance exam twice and I had to take my Anatomy & physiology serval times. I’m honestly really doubting about retaking my HESI and applying to nursing school. I feel like since I’m struggling so much in these important area, I shouldn’t continue nursing. My coworker who is nursing school right now said it’s really hard and harder than anatomy and physiology 2 and since I struggled so much in this class I feel like I shouldn’t pursue nursing anymore. I honestly, just need a direction and what I need to do.

Thanks everyone! Can’t wait to see your response!

I honestly think you can definitely do this. I used a lot of quizlet to study for the HESI and I passed it on the first try. Knowing your learning style is very important because it can make or break your retention process. I hope that this helps a little.

Specializes in Nursing.

So am I .

I have taken the hesi multiple times and I am still struggling.

That somebody have an advice?

If we are taking about the HESI A2 entrance exam. I’ve taken it numerous times and I finally passed! I used the study guide book. My school does not require us to take any science sections.

However my scores for grammar was holding me back. But this time I was able to get passing scores. I literally remembered the entire grammar section from nouns to who vs. whom. I can literally see the book section by section page by page because I reviewed it sooo many times. I hand wrote the sections many times. And I broke it up into sections. I would do 5 per 3-4 days until I completely got the concept down. And took a lot of practice questions off google.

The vocabulary I was completely upset because I studied over 400 words but I feel like half of them weren’t on the exam. Bummer.

Anything that I study I have to pre-read, read, hand write and review it multiple times. I made flash cards for the vocabulary and grammar I had notes up in my shower had my book with me at all times! And used quizlet.

Don't give up!!! keep on going!!!

look up hesi study information in Quizlets... it should help..

I honestly think that A&P 1 and 2 were the hardest two classes I have ever taken. There were so many things to remember. I am about to start 3rd semester of an ADN program and I think that nursing classes are easier than A&P. That is just my opinion. You can do it. I have taken the HESIA2 before and it was all about preparation. I got a good review book and it helped a lot. The most helpful part was the grammar and punctuation section. If nursing is what you want then you will have to grind it out. It might take longer for you to get there, but you will get there. Don't give up!
