I just took the HESI A2 Retake Version 2!

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone. I am applying for my BSN at UT Health. I took the HESI back in June and did well on everything except the critical thinking section.

I just took the HESI A2 Version 2. I was told that the 2nd version would be much harder than the first version. I am not sure if I took the correct test, because I recognized some of the same questions from the first test. If any one has taken the Hesi A2 Version 2 please help. Was the Version 2 test completely different and more dificult than the first time?

Now I'm thinking i just threw $90 out the window. If anyone can help i would really appreciate it.

Thanks in advanced!!

I'm retaking mine tomorrow as well. From what I have heard, there were two theories. I have heard that some say it's harder than the first. Other's say it's the same or easier because you will see similar questions on the test , as long as you signed up for the right version it should be the right test.

We can study together. I have to take it also

hi airgela, i have to retake hesi and would like to know if version 2 is completely different from version 1 or if you got back the same questions...please relpy i would greatly appreciate it

Hey everyone. I just took my HESI a2 version 2 through UT and it was not bad. I passed with flying colors, and only studied a month in between the exams. Compared to version one, version two is not more difficult.

Anatomy: version one had 25 questions and version two had 30 questions.

*STUDY HORMONES, BONES, KIDNEYS, MUSCLES, NERVOUS SYSTEM.

- know cardiovascular system (structure of the heart)

- know respiratory system (structure of lungs)

**i mainly watched crash courses on YouTube

version one: 90

version two: 90

Reading: MORE implication questions that were a little bit difficult to comprehend. Hardly any entertaining passages, more informative/ persuasive. TAKE THIS SECTION FIRST.

version one: 88

versiom two: 82

Grammar: STUDY DEPENDENT/INDEPENDENT clauses. Most questions are like : what is NOT correct about this sentence?

Version one: 84

version two: 86

Math: Mainly study improper/mixed fractions.

Version one: 90

version two: 92

Vocab: last version, I got a 74 and version two, I got a 94.

@Shanlea17:

Thank you for the Vocabulary website. I will use this to practice for my HESI A2 retake. I didn't score too well in my Vocab section, so this site will come in handy :) My overall score was 83%, which is considered a good score at my school, but unfortunately, my Critical Thinking score was 780, which actually is kinda low. So my advisor told to retake and bump up the Critical Thinking. Unfortunately (again), I can't just retake the Critical Thinking portion. I have to do the whole HESI again.

I took hesi a2 first time and I suck on vocabulary and reading part.

I got 100 math and 96 A&p

For math section and A&P, I used the study guide and pocket prep app . I did every question that was on the app.

For the reading questions, I didn't study anything at all, I thought it was just reading and answering question which I was so wrong. But guess what? When I start studying for the retake, I found all the reading essay on quizlet, so check quizlet. It's very helpful and you could also find same questions and passage if you are lucky.

For the vocabulary part, studying the study guid only doesn't help, there are some but I don't know what to tell you to study. But make sure you know the words on the guide and pocket prep app.

I am retaking the vocabulary and reading part this coming week.

I will try to update the second version, I hope is it hard. The first one wasn't bad if I kind of studied

@ladylizort

Sorry 3 years later....

Did you end up taking retaking the whole exam again because of not being able to retake critical thinking?

Hello,

I was wondering if you can give me an idea of the difference between the version 1 and version 2. I’m retaking and this is my second try and they told me they will be the version 2.

Thank you in advance.
