I know healthcare in general is something I am very interested in. I want to help people live longer healthier lives. I have always been into a more holistic side of life but I still believe in good old traditional medicine practices being good as well. I am currently somewhat of pre-nursing student. When I first enrolled in school I was going on the nursing track but started learning towards nutrition because it truly is my passion. I love talking to people about their diets and exercise plans. I also thought it was meant for me since I am finally in a place that has a school that offers a nutrition degree like 10 minutes from my house. The only problem is that a traditional dietitian doesn't make what I think 4 years of school plus an internship deserves. However I know with nursing I know I would make what I need at least in the beginning because I am always checking the job listings in my area. How did you make your decision to become a nurse? This is my last semester before the classes/prereqs change. For nutrition I need to take college level chemistry, but for nursing I only need intro to chem. I saved the chemistry classes for last on purpose. Someone please help.
Hey everyone I am answering my own question and decided to post it here just in case anyone in the future is having the same problem as me. Research is the best thing and I don't know why I didn't do it sooner. If I get my BSN I can be qualified to sit for the Certified Clinical Nutrition board and I could also become a Certified Diabetes Educator. So that is what I am going to do, go for the BSN and feel confident in my decision.

Good for you. You can also have both worlds! have you looked into Endocrinology? You can tap into you passion of nutrition and also work with your BSN as well.
Thanks. No I haven't but I will now. Thats another thing I like about this profession there are so many opportunites available for people. I so can't wait until I am there :).
