Hello everyone! I have been confused/undecided since the results of my june board exam were released last month. Now that I have passed and have my RN license, what should I do next? Ive been trying to figure things out but I just cant come up with a good plan. I hope you guys can help me decide.
Here are the things that confuses me:
a. I'd like to take the NCLEX-RN exam by next year. I have the requirements and all but I am not sure if I should review right away or wait until I get my ATT.
b. My mother wants me to work in a hospital while reviewing for my nclex which I personally object. I dont think i can review very well for it while working as a nurse since nurses here in the philippines are so underpaid and overworked. But, she wants me to get an experience right away.
c. After taking the NCLEX-RN, I want to look for a hospital in California, USA that could petition me with getting a green card.
d. However, while looking at different hospitals, I noticed that they have other requirements such as BLS, ACLS, and IV. I was wondering if they also consider the ones that I took in a foreign country.
e. I want to go to the US right away without any experience, would that be possible?
f. Lastly, would it be a good idea if I go with a search firm or a recruitment agency?
Thank you very much.

I suggest a good read in this forum especially on retrogression as currently you are looking at over 2 years before you can move to the US and that is only if you are lucky to obtain a visa, no longer a guarantee. So can either get a job and gain some experience whilst you study or look for a job after you have met US BON requirements. Remember you are not applying for NCLEX but licensure to be a nurse in the US of which NCLEX is part of the process. Don't wait for ATT before you start to study. Check out our NCLEX forum regarding study information
Do not waste money taking any courses such as ACLS and IV as they will not be recognized in the US only do them if you are going to be using them in the Philippines.
Up to you whether you go direct or agency and many discussions has been done both on here and in the Philippine forum so try using the search facility and look for them
