Right now I am working at a gas station and cannot stand it there.
I will start working in the Nursing Home on Monday...which would not give me the 2 week notice to quit my job from the gas station (I don't want to upset anyone!)
Pros: I took a tour of it and I absolutely love the different units, there is one unit that I would be very fond to work in...
The people that work there seem to be very friendly.
The residents seem to be very happy.
I think I would be very happy and love working in this nursing home.
This nursing home is only 2 blocks away from my house!
Cons:
I don't know if this nursing job will help me with tuition assistance, which I will need since I plan on going to nursing school starting in the fall.
This nursing home pays $10 an hour.
Other than these two things, I think this will be an excellent place for me to work. What do you think? They hired me after an hour of talking to me so I would think that if I wanted a job at a nursing home, I would have no problem getting one. Would you take this job if you were me?
It might be that they are so desperate and not really that good of a place to work, too . What do you think? Has anyone ever experienced something like this?

If you have any inclination toward working in healthcare, then take the job. You can get a lot of satisfaction from providing care to nursing home residents. But please don't be discouraged. You will find out quickly that these places are not easy to work at. You will find that there is too much to be done in order to take care of the residents as if they were your own grandma or grandpa, and just not enough workers to get everything done. Just don't give up right away. These people need you.

I think you should take it. I am a new CNA too. I tried to find a CNA job, most nursing homes are not currently hiring or they are looking for an experienced one. Don't think there are an opportunities everywhere unless you have experienced! I thought I would find a job easily after I got my CNA licence. But it was not that easy..... (at least my area )
All right, I've decided to take the job. I was just so surprised at how fast they were willing to hire me.

Surprised how willing to hire you?
People are pootin' by the minute, and there's a 400 lb man that's been waiting on a new CNA to shower him for 3 months!
Ha ha, just kidding. Good luck on your job, and I need to get one soon for at least a day per week, so I can take all education expenses off on taxes.
lol...thanks baldee
