Well, life is looking better today because I got my permit to practice as a graduate nurse today! YAY!! Although it was not from Texas, where I had originally planned to seek initial licensure, I'm still happy to see it. I just called pearson and switched the state from Texas to VA and I should be getting my ATT in the next few days! So life is looking better now.
Thanks for all of your support and understanding over the past few weeks. I have REALLY needed to vent!

Well, happystudent, it all depends on the state you live in . In virginia, you apply to the board of nursing for licensure as a RN after you graduate, and when they approve your application, they send you a letter saying that your application has been approved and that you are authorized to practice as a "registered nurse applicant" for a period not to exceed 60 days following your graduation date. You must take and pass the NCLEX within those 60 days to continue to practice nursing. If you fail the nclex, you lose your permit.
In texas, you apply as mentioned above and they send a Graduate nurse (GN) permit. You can practice under the supervision of an RN for a period of 60 days following the date your permit is issued. same deal with taking and passing the nclex.
Hope that helps!
Thanks for the info! :)
