I found my "A" game under the couch

Published

Yesterday was a heck of a day. It wasn't super busy, it wasn't super heavy, it was just one of those days when you wonder how you actually made it to work without tripping over your own feet...I left my A game at home.

Today...amazing, I was on top of (almost) everything, felt good about my patients and I think they liked me, but it could have gone differently...one bed was a local hospital administrator.

This patient was awaiting surgery...it kept getting pushed back and I thought "wow, am I ever going to hear about this", but no. She was the "perfect" patient. Self sufficient, didn't complain, was cooperative with vitals, pokes and prods. VIPs can be tough sometimes but this one made my day and renewed my belief that we are all the same when in the patient role.

Thank you hospital administrator, you can be my patient anyday.

I LOVE the title of this post! :-)

You know, you might want to find a mailing address for this patient and send a simple, handwritten thank you note. Tell her what you told us. I guarantee it will make her day.

There's so little niceness going on sometimes...it just keeps it going a little longer to acknowledge it.
