I forgot to change a resident after an incident happened with a different resident

Published

Hi! I'm a first time CNA and recently got a job working at a nursing home last month. I was doing the evening shift and was spooked by a fall with an aggressive patient. I was aiding another CNA in changing her and forgot to change another patient. The patient told the supervisor and I might be in trouble. This is my first CNA job and I am scared I'll lose my license. Any advice?

You won't lose your license. At the most you might be written up...just try to learn from this. Keep a cheat sheet if needed. Ask for help. At shift report, if you didn't get it done, let someone know so they can be s attended to sooner than later.
