I have tried to take all the advice I've seen posted here, and have studied for 3 weeks and I just don't know what else to do. I score well on the practice tests in the ATI study guide, but when I do the online practice tests I can't get over 70. I'm beyond frustrated, especially with the science section. I have never taken chemistry or physics and no matter how hard I try, I am not learning apparently what I need to be. I've used online places like YouTube and Khan Academy, is there any other suggestions for places I can go for chem and physics? I am testing on the 18th. Reading and Math I can do well in, science is absolutely killing me and my English I can't seem to score over 70 in. Any help/ advice is really appreciated!

From what I have heard most people have scored much lower on the online practice exams than the real exam since they are more difficult questions.

I concur with MamaKate. I did well on the TEAS, and I'm no chemistry pro. I never took physics. I wouldn't recommend using online practice tests as a baseline for studying. If you did well on the ATI practice tests, you're likely in a good position.

I scored much better on the actual TEAS than I did on the practice tests. I think you'll be surprised. Best wishes!

Instead of putting yourself down, look at the bright side. You got Reading and Math there for support, try to aim for a 60-70 atleast on the science and I'm sure you will do fine. English is hard, but you have to keep practicing the format, read the sentences they give you back and forth analyze it to death. What in english is giving you trouble?
Thanks, it's a new day and I have renewed hope I think. I just took the practice test #1 from the back of the ATI book and got an 88% for science and 70% for English. There's just such a huge difference in level for the science from the book to the online practice exams. I wish I felt more confident that it won't be as hard as the online test. English I have narrowed down that I need to crack down on simple sentences and adjectives. It's just been so long I guess I've been hitting the science so hard since my school uses a point system based on individual scores from each section and science accounts for 30%. Math I can get an easy 90%, probably would get higher but I always find some silly mistake I've made. Reading I should be able to easily pull between 80-90%. I'm pretty confident I can get my English up to 80%, but that darn science.
Maybe I'd feel better if I knew what my schools average was. I asked my nursing advisor and she said she didn't know, that they didn't publish that information. I am going to Ivy Tech in Ft Wayne, IN if anyone has any info on that I'd be ever so grateful!
I currently have. 4.0 GPA, only scored pre req's I have left are my A&P 102 and PSYC 101 that I'm taking this semester. I'm just so worried the way everyone talks that even if I pull A's in those classes, that I still won't get accepted if my TEAS score isn't over 80. When I asked my nursing advisor about it, she said anything over 85 would be like acing the SAT's. I don't know anything about that either but it is almost discouraging to hear that. I mean how many people really do that well on the SAT's?
Anyways, thanks for the advice, and letting me vent a little bit. I'm going to keep plugging on and just pray for the best!

Hello.. I know exactly how you feel. I am also at Ivytech in Ft Wayne. I have been studying my butt off for a month and will take the test on the 16th. I was blown away by and very discouraged by the online practice tests but I must say I have learned a lot. I even requested live chat on the ati site to vent.. lol the lady said that the study guide and the practice tests are designed prepare us for the exam. So I went through the online tests again and took notes this time. A lot more confident now. If I don't score high enough for ivytech then Im going to St. Francis.. Good luck. I may see you in A&P or Psych..
Wishing you a lot of luck!!!! I hope you'll come back and let me know how the real deal compares to the actual test. I redid my online practice test and got a 71% which is up from my first 66%. I actually scored higher on the science than the first time but lower on English. I'm going back over everything and just gonna pray for the best. Here's to hopefully great TEAS results and an acceptance letter in May!
I Will definitely let you know I thought the English in the B test was a little harder. Don't be too discouraged by that..
Well that might explain why my second online attempt was switched in the Science and English sections, I did test B that time. Classes started this week so I'm trying not to let myself get frazzled by studying for classes and preparing for the TEAS. Good luck tomorrow!
Wish I had positive news, but I dont. I ran out of time on the Reading and Math. The passages were long and some of the questions require u to go back to interpret a sentence at the end of a paragrah out of 5. Not hard though. Next time I plan to read the questions before the passage so that I know what to look for. They dont allow enough time in my opinion.
The math was mostly story problems or informational interpretations with long lists of prices and items to compare for the best deals. Not much of all the simple algebra questions I was so ready for. I even had percentage stuff down. Only a few of these. I had like 20 questions left and 9 mins to go. Nerve wrecking... Had plenty of time and did well on Science and English. So just be prepared for long passages and story problems.. If u dont run out of time u will do fine. Glad I get another chance :)
Well that stinks : ( I'm so sorry you didn't get the results you wanted. I redid test B and got 77% so I guess it's progress.... Ugh! I hope you have better luck on the retake. Did your results show Ivy Tech's program average? I'm really curious about it.
