Hi Nursing Friends,
I found out this morning that I failed the NCLEX-RN, it was my first time taking the exam. I took all 265 questions which apparently means I was close to not failing but still failed. Anyway, now I am really at a loss for words, mostly because I've got no idea what I do now?
I spent enough hours crying and being upset but I know thats not going to help me pass. As much as this sucks I know it does not change the type of nurse I will become. If anything it will make me love and appreciate my job even more. So I'm holding my head up high and am getting ready to dive into studying again after I figure out the best approach.
What I did for the first NCLEX was; take a live review with Hurst, ATI question bank (came with my nursing school), and used the NCSBN question bank.
If there is anyone out there that could give me some advice on what to do and materials to use after failing the first time I would really appreciate anything!
- Any thoughts on study material such as Davis's Q&A, Saunders, Lippincott etc.

Given that you went the full 265 and failed means you were close to passing for pretty much the entire exam and the last question presented to you was at or below passing. Given that you went that long, I doubt the problem is content knowledge, but rather I suspect that it's how you interpreted the questions or how you read the answers that caused you problems. Traditional test-taking techniques don't work too well on exams like this one. There are tips in this forum about how to help you evaluate what is being asked and also what answer may be the right one.

I agree with AkulahawkRN, with having all 265 questions you were more than likely consistent in content and need to focus on your test taking skills and determining what each question is asking you. When you get your CPR in the mail try to focus more on the areas you were below or near passing in.

Continue with ati and try to ask your school if you can retake the ati predictor before you retake the nclex so you can see where you stand. Try using prepu.com if you can . Use a good review book and review by studing Straight for 3 weeks. Also practice many questions. Do 200 questions everyday. That's what I did and it helped me pass . You will pass!!

hi @IwillpasstheNCLEX
dont worry. You can pass NCLEX easily. Recently One of my friend passed NCLX. He told me that he got training from a online school. Go to this link. It may be helpful.

Use the Kaplan strategies, practice and review book and Linda lacharity PDA book. I got 265 my first time then passed with 75! Also if you don't want to spend alot of money Kaplan offers free online sessions just go to kaptest.com and sign up.
