hi there, i'm new here...can anyone suggest what to do , am i having a big mistake if not taking the local exam in the phil? my target destination is canada and i wanted to take those exams which would help me to work in canada. my exp. here is sero but what's the use, knowing that they are not recognizing our standards here , that we have to further again upgrade our clinical skills to be able to work as a respectable rn status , soooo is there any short cut to resolved this matter ? can anyone .....pls ty:uhoh3:

you will be making a big mistake about not going to take ur licensure exam here and going to canada with absolute zero nursing experience at ur resume... you MUST be a license nurse here before you can apply for a registration as a nurse in canada (registration for CRNE-candian licensure exam). part of that application is verification letter which you will give to PRC then PRC will send it to CRNBC (f ur destination will be British Columbia) and same goes to other canadian states...THERE IS NO WAY YOU CAN BE A RN IN CANADA IF U R NOT LICENSE HERE...

now, about the experience - there was a thread here posted by 1 filipina nurse who is currently at vancouver at the moment and shes applying for a nursing job at various hospitals.. she have 12 years hospital experience but not working as a nurse for the past 2 years... not even a single hospital is wiling to hire her, because of that 2 years of not practicing nursing.

my husband is being hired by a hospital in british columbia - primarily because of his 6 years hospital experience and being at the OR for 4 years.

In canada, experience will always matter.

tnx, ms.tina is that ok to call you ms.tina? your reply is very enlightening, prior to these msg., Ive already posted a mile long reply but I dont know why it didnt post... but again...tnx alot ...Now I know where to FOCUS my energy but to PASSED the NLE and to get a hosp. exp as possible. I hope other's can also relate to this matter. I'm hoping to this is the beggining of our healthy nursing community discussion so long... tnx again.

no problem, its nice to assist someone in little way.. NLE is not so difficult afterall, study lang.
