Hi everyone! Is anyone in the process of completing their grad school application? I am working on mine. I want to start an adult acute care NP/MSN in fall 2006. So far I have my application form done, I signed up to take the GRE next month, I have 4 people who agreed to write me letters of reference, I sent away for all my college transcripts...so I'm almost there! Oh & I updated my resume & typed out a 500 word essay on why I want to do grad work in nursing...phew! I'm nervous & excited both. I only work 24 hours/week now & I only plan on going to school part-time, so working shouldn't be a problem next fall. I think it will take me 3 years to complete the program since I'll be going on a part-time basis-so by the time I graduate, I will have been an RN for 4 years-that makes me feel better, so I know I have some experience behind me before working as an NP. Thanks for listening! :)

Hi Christine,

I am also in the processing of applying to grad school. I am applying for a psych mental-health CNS program. I am applying to three different schools and all of the essays are slightly different, so it's taking quite awhile to get it all together! So far I have filled out the applications, asked for letters of recommedation, and put together a resume. It sounds like you are off to a great start. Good luck!

Hi Christine,

I was in your shoes exactly a year ago! I was so excited and couldn't wait to get my file complete so that I could send it out to the schools I applied to. I took the entrance exam (for me it was the MAT) in November, also.

Well, here I am, exactly a year later in the FNP program of my choice and I thoroghly enjoy it. I attend class P/T (2 classes per semester) and I work per diem, usually 12 hours/2 weeks. I also have two small children at home(1 and 3 years) and it is very doable.

Best of luck to you - I hope you get in to the program that you want.:)
