hybrid or in class FNP program?

Published

Hello,

I am applying to a few graduate school for FNP program, I haven't got any responses yet, but if I do, I am having a hard time to decide whether going to class or doing the program as hybrid online would be better educationally wise.. Would love input on this..

Thank you.

I really like the layout of my program. I guess you would call it hybrid. I don't have campus visits every week, but during clinicals, there are some mandatory throughout the semester, as well as optional labs and stuff you can attend. As far as class goes, if your prospective program does lectures and sets up the education online like you would see in a classroom, then I would say consider that option. I love the flexibility it has given me and feel as though I am actually being taught. I would not want to attend an online program that just said "here is a list of chapters you need to read" and everything is 100% self-taught. Not that I don't believe in graduate school we should be able to teach ourselves...I just feel like I'm paying to be guided by an expert, so I expect it.

The professors in my program have been great so far. The only difference I feel is that if

I have a question, I have to wait a little while to get an answer from discussion board or email, but that's about it. My teachers make PowerPoints and put them up with voice overs, so it's set up similarly to what I would be doing in class on campus.
