Hunter College - Get Accepted

Published

I get the email today around 12.30pm!!!!

I am accpeted to Hunter College Nursing for Fall 2008!!!

I am so happy after such a long journey!!!

Delayed notification doesn't matter anyway, I have made it!!!!:nurse:

look forward to see other guys at the orientation

I received the email at 7pm! Look forward to meeting you on orientation day! =]

Congratulations!! :yeah: It's nice to hear from fellow Hunter students whether or not they were accepted. I'll be applying next year, and I'm just wondering how did you guys do on the NLN exam and what was your GPA? I really want to get in, so any help or advice would be appreciated. Thank you!!:D

I think you should really review your basic science and math skills 'cause that really helped me boost up my NLN score. My GPA wasn't that great (3.3) and I scored a 140 on my NLN. Also, they also changed the format of the test. It's no longer on paper.. it's computerized now. Good luck next year!! Hopefully I'll see you around at Brookdale. =D

My GPA is 3.8 and NLN is 145

Here's how i do it

besides GPA, try to review the NLN at least 3 months before the exam. i mean the suggested book at hunter bookstore

Also for chemistry and physics part, it should be enough if you can spend some time to borrow or read the fundamental textbooks in the library. go through those basic concept especially. if you have your introductory chemistry book. that will be great too.

Good luck!

I graduated from Hunter, not in nursing though.

My big recommendation to you would to be to document EVERYTHING you do that involves the administration. My professors were excellent, but I seriously think the administration is designed to be as student unfriendly as possible. So keep copies of letters, emails, add/drop slips, your financial aid documents, etc. Maybe note of the person you spoke with and the time and what they said when you're in a situation when you don't get a carbon copy of something. And ask the same question of multiple sources.

My senior year they over awarded me financial aid. I asked them about it because it was more than I was expecting and they said not to worry, it was what I was supposed to have. About 8 months later, I got a letter from them saying that they'd overpaid my aid and that I owed them $1,100.

So just...be overly cautious and OCD about documenting things.

Specializes in DD, HHC, Med Surg, PCU, Resource.

Hey, I also go to hunter and is applying to the nursing program in 2009. Can you guys answer a few questions? ( 1.how long is the pre-nursing test 2. are there any breaks? 3. Can you use a calculator for the math part? 4. whats the best book in your opinion to buy to prep for the exam? )

THNX A LOT GUYS!
