humber nephrology nsg program

Published

hi wondering if anyone has any insite/information regarding the humber nephrology nsg certificate program. i am taking the first course (neph 101--which is online format) and there is a lot of information. would love to get any additional help/advice/share your expereinces with me.

i am very interested in getting into dialysis nursing in addition to my work as med/surg nurse, mostly med. i am hoping at the end of it to maybe work in hd part-time.

does anyone have advice regarding good places to work part-time in hd? for example, good training, good environment/support/training, acceptable workload. i am mostly only interested in the acute side-either on the ward or in the icu's. or at least in-patient in complex care hosptials. wondering if any of the complex cont care places have hd or prisma for the in-patients--ie., toronto grace, runnymede cont. care. i'd be interested in that pace.

any tips/pointers advice for someone studying in this area? nephro very new specialty for me. i've worked on a renal/med/geriatric floor as agency but with no formal training--and learning as i go.

pm's also welcome...thank you!;)
