Has anyone taken the CLEP test in place of a Humanities class? If so, are there good study guides you recommend? thanks in advance for any info

I'm having trouble figuring out which CLEP exams are applicable to the EC exams I need, since the have different names and such. Is there anyone that can help me here? EC hasn't been real helpful in this area..except to say they wouldn't accept the english clep.
Do they accept Clep Psychology in place of Life Span Developmental Psychology? And which Clep could I take in place of EC's Sociology, A & P ? THanks for any advice/help in advance:)

I'm sure it will help someone Ex, thanks for the reply. What I'm looking for is whether anyone used the resources I listed, and any opinions they had. Or, what resources they used. I'm looking for one that would just cover the majority of the tested material with minimal detail. Although my test taking skills "ain't all that", I can memorize/regurg with the best of 'em.
I think the best source for that info would be Excelsior. I feel your pain on trying to get a straight answer out of the though. It's almost as if you have to catch the right person at the right time.
I don't think they accept psychology clep for the Lifespan & Development requirement, as I have taken psychology, child psychology and a sociology class called "family in the society". What amounts to about 11hrs of college credit, and they won't let any of it count towards the Lifespan & Development. I have a bachelors degree in chemistry, and they still want me to take information literacy....ugh, don't get me started.
Anyway, a word to the wise, just take the Lifespan & Developent clep.

You can use the Human Growth and Development clep for the Lifespan requirement, I just did that 2 months ago, I also clepped Analyzing and Interpreting Literature for my 6 humanites credits, and am going to use the sociology clep for Sociology credits. If you are enrolled and email an advisor they will approve your cleps. This is what I did before I took them. I have never had any problem getting them to answer my questions. Hope this helps. Dot

Research & Education Association study guides for the clep tests are excellent, except maybe expensive. You can get each one for around 25-30 bucks. I don't suggest general CLEP preparation books. They are not that useful for the preaparation for one subject.
I took CLEP - Introductory Sociology last month, and did pretty good. The schools I am interested in all accept CLEP Introductory Sociology, Introductory Psychology. But CLEP English is not accepted by one school.
