Hello all,
I am interested in applying for the HRSA nurse loan repayment program once I finish my education. However, I am uncertain if all my loans will qualify for forgiveness. I started my education as a Biology student and incurred most of my debt doing that, but now I've changed my major to Nursing. So, I will finish my Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Also, most of my undergraduate coursework will apply to my Nursing degree. Does anyone know if those loans that I got as a Biology student will be eligable for repayment as well since I never actually got a degree in that?
Thanks!

My guess is that classes that would have been taken as part of a nursing program would qualify, but the last time I read the conditions for loan repayment, where you choose to work after graduation plays a role in whether or not you qualify for repayment. I think there is also a cap on how much is repaid. I wouldn't waste time asking for opinions here. The only way to know for sure is to ask HRSA directly.

As far as I've been told (because I plan on applying after I've finished) my non-nursing coursework will not be paid through HRSA.
HRSA pays off up to 60% of your nursing debt only, if you work in a qualifying facility.
