Sorry, clicked on the wrong icon...Honestly, I'm not sure whether or not I want to stay in this area after graduating. I don't have a problem working for this hospital. I just feel with the gov scholarship, I'd have more places to choose from. I'd also get more of a monthly stipend. And...the length of my contract would be shorter. I'd really like to try travel nursing so with a shorter contract I'd be able to start traveling sooner.
Ohh...ok, I understand...I actually looked into this scholarship as well, but after trying to look up hospitals in my area who were associated with it, I didn't see any hospital that I would be interested in working in...I'm still looking for a scholarship associated with a hospital I would consider working in
Good Luck!

I'm hoping someone can answer this question for me. Are second degree students eligible for the HRSA scholarship program?
I was wondering because one of the schools I'm planning on applying to has an ABSN program that is fully paid for by the hospital I'm working at...I also get a $500 monthly stipend in exchange for a 3 year contract at that hospital.
After reading about the HRSA scholarship, I think I would like to apply for it instead. The problem is, I won't know whether or not I get the scholarship until September of next year (considering I won't apply for it until next year) The traditional BSN program here starts in August, and the ABSN program starts in January. If I can't get the loan for the ABSN program, should I apply for the traditional BSN program and hope to God I get it? Or do you think they'd look down on me because I already have a BS (literally) degree even if my EFC is 0?
Is there anyone in a similar situation as me who already has a bachelor's degree and was awarded the scholarship for either an ABSN program, Alternate Entry MSN program or a traditional BSN program?
Thanks,
Tiffany
