I got the finalist email this morning for the Nurse Corps LRP, accepted and signed the contract, and am now under final review. I am so thrilled and a little in shock still. I am an RN working in public health with a crippling debt to income ratio, so this is such a blessing. Good luck everyone! :)
I received my awardee email on 07/20/2015 I felt elated so it was about a 3 week time period between finalist and awardee email June 29,2015-July 20, 2015 not that long but felt like a century to me. I'm now wondering does anybody have any idea whether it takes the whole 90 days to receive the stipend and does anyone have any advice on how to repay the money (i.e consolidation, etc...). I am NHSC so I will receive $50,000 and I have about $130,000 in student loan debt all federal and same lender Great Lakes.

How do you plan on paying your money?
I have Great Lakes and NelNet for my loans. When I talked to the lenders and to a financial adviser, the advise was to pay 25,000 when money was received (you get interest for taxes 2015). Make next years payment in exactly 12 months again tax break. Payments are suspended for time it would have taken you to catch up. For example if your payments are $1000 a month and you pay 25,000 you will not owe another payment for 25 months. Hope this helps. I was notified on July 29th I was a finalist. Website says all money will be disbursed by Sept 30th.

Hi all, I recently applied for the hrsa nurse loan repayment program, and am still waiting to hear back. I completely understand that many in the past began receiving notifications around this time. I am just curious to see if anyone else that has applied has received any offers for contract yet. Thanks to each in advance!
