HRSA Fall 2022-2023 Nurse Corps Scholarship

I am just starting a thread, because I haven't seen one yet pertaining to the current award cycle that ends September 30th, 2022 for the 2023 school year. If you all have received any communication or an award letter, please share it here. Good luck y'all!

I am sorry to hear that. I know just like me, you were prepared for either decision, so I know you have a backup plan to achieve your goals. I wish you success and keep working hard(or smart) to get where you want to achieve in the field of healthcare(and life).

@Lare I'm definitely continuing my program. I can't apply again next year. I'm already a nurse I'm going for my BSN and that program is only 1year. I'll finish by July next year. I have applied for other scholarships not sure if I'll win but this one was worth more than the other scholarships. Being that I'm already a nurse and I have been working in a underserved population over 7years I took the chance and applied.

Finally I was equally not selected, and I’m not applying next year as well. Right now I got to stick to my job to pay for my tuition.

There is the Nurse Corp Loan Repayment Program that will open in November or February 2023 that will pay off any outstanding debt for a commitment. Since you already have been working in that environment, and it applies to current RNs.

@BagoNurse71 Yes I know about that. The scholarships is better. My loan amount would be about 5-7K I'm not willing to commit 2yrs for that. I can travel and make that back by then.

Have any of y'all recieve results yet? I pray ? yall get it.

I also read that its harded to get selected when your already a nurse.. Not sure how true that is but I just though it was strange that my application status changed afters submitting all my documents as a semifinalist to being back under review. Yesterday I recived a wired letter from them saying we will contact you in 3-4days regarding your status change. I never requested a status changed. I emailed them to ask what did the change mean but no one could answer it ?‍♀️

@Ly Dien sorry to hear that. If your still going to be in nursing school I would just resubmit it. The work was already done. I would submit as soon as it opens. I submitted on the last date of this cycle.

I believe that pinkdiamond. I believe if you are already a nurse, especially being an RN, u stand the chance of not being selected. But yeah I will still be in the program, so might just submit and equally do the loan repayment too because by the time I’m done with school, I should be having like $90,000 in loans

@BagoNurse71 I would definitely utilize one of them. My tuition won't exceed 10K so I'll just apply for scholrships. I don't have any additional loans taken out.

Only thing I received was my welcome package which I downloaded and printed. I’m not sure if already being a nurse is necessarily true. A friend of mine who also was a nurse RN got it and told me about it years ago. I finally applied and here I am and I asked for 2 years. I am interested in why that happened??

Where did you find the welcome package if you don’t mind me asking

So others are not able to see welcome kit either? 

I have called three times and no one can tell me anything and I get a different answer everytime. It should be where the award letter and contract links are but on my page is just has the welcome kit typed out at top but no link attached. I also can not get an answer to the ORC or stipends.
