the first thing i would do is look up as much information about these diseases/surgery and their treatment as you can find. nursing care, if you can't think of anything else, will address the signs and symptoms of the disease process going on much like the doctors are doing. nursing, then, also takes into consideration not only carrying out the doctors orders, but how the treatments affect the patient's ability to get their adls done. you also need to keep in mind that a complication of these diseases could come about at any time, so you need to be on the look out for signs and symptoms of them.
you can search the websites listed in this sticky thread for medical disease and condition information. there are some really good sites with information on them there:
you might want to know the pathophysiology of inflammation to better understand the symptoms of inflammation, the "-itis" part of cellulitis, (redness, heat, swelling, pain). it is posted here: https://allnurses.com/forums/f50/histamine-effect-244836.html
you can learn about the procedure of hip arthroplasty on this website and also review the care of a general surgical patient who undergoes general anesthesia (see some of the information posted here: https://allnurses.com/forums/f205/appy-195227.html#post1969425)
don't put all your eggs in one basket. research all four medical conditions. you might want to open up and print out a critical thinking flow sheet for nursing students for each disease to help you prepare for this test. the link is attached at the bottom of this post. if you can't open it, pm me.
