Howard Community College (HCC) - Fall 2024 Schedule

Hello, 

I was accepted into the fall 2024 day program at Howard CC in Maryland. Can anyone share what their schedule was?

Could anyone share with me what they use to study for the HESI A2 exam? Thanks

Hi, I used Nursehub's HESI A2 study program. I was able to find a discount code and got it for cheap. Also this quizlet: https://quizlet.com/680471316/HESI-A2-anatomy-physiology-v1v2-flash-cards/ has word by word questions from the A&P portion of the exam. Those are really the only 2 things I used to study. I would suggest taking a lot of practice questions. Also at least for me, the math portion had a lot of conversions and fractions so I would also make sure you know how to add, multiply, subtract, etc., fractions

Hello y'all, how's nursing program at HCC going so far. Please how did you guys complete N95 fitting test and flu shot? I've completed other things except these two...

Also, could someone please give me the title of the Nursing core courses as they are stated as Concept 1,2,3.... on the school website, and I need to know the course title for each e.g pharmacy,  Med-Surg, Maternal etc. 

Lastly, does HCC use ATI testing for both course-based exams and comprehensive predictor exit exam or it's for only one of the

Hello,

N95 fit test will be performed within the first couple weeks of the semester. It will be completed at the school by a professor. For my flu shot I just made an appointment through CVS to get it done. They'll email you or give you a document with the required information for you to upload. ATI exams are given as your final exam of each semester.

2nd semester- Med surg 1

3rd semester- Mother/baby & psych

Hi, I know we go in for lecture on Mondays and Wednesdays, how many days we go in for clinical and do we choose what days we want to?

Hey, clinical for Fundamentals is once a week. You get to choose; they send over a sign-up link and they give you 24 hrs to view it so you can decide what you want. You need to be on sign-up link at the exact time it opens because the slots go by very fast and sometimes people are not able to get what they want because it gets filled up so fast.

Last year when I was going into the first semester we didn't get the sign up link until second week of August. I'm not sure if it will be the same for your cohort

1st semester- Fundamentals 

2nd semester- Med surg 1

3rd semester- Mother/baby & psych 

4th semester- Med surg 2

Could someone please provide the body systems covered under Medical-Surgical Nursing I and II, respectively?

I haven't taken med surg 2, but med surg I covers many disease processes and the impact it has on the body systems rather than just the body systems if that makes sense
