How does this work??

Hi everyone,

I have been researching all the many ways there are to bridge from lvn to RN and admittingly, I am a bit confused. I am in So. Cal, and was hoping to bridge going the 'online' route after getting my Lvn license. (I understand that Exelsior's program is not an option, but there are other online lpn to RN programs available to me, right?)

Can someone explain/clarify the options? Do I have to attend a 2 yr RN school after becoming an Lvn? Or is there the option of doing it all online? IF so, where/how?

Also, I am in my early 40's and just starting out, so I would hope to get to my RN as quickly as possible. I am choosing the Lvn first in order to be working in this field asap, as opposed to waiting on a list at all the traditional schools in my area.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated! thank you :)

there is is link on the california website below that has a list of the california approved programs in partnership with out of state online programs for rn. check them out:
