How Tough are the CNA Courses in general?

Published

I plan on registering for CNA courses (to become a nursing assistant) in the summer at York College. How difficult are the courses/program as a whole? The reason I ask is that I'd like to take at least 1 additional class in the summer session(A&PII) at a different college. THe CNA classes only meet once per week (14 sessions), but I'm more concerned about the level of difficulty of the CNA classes. My ultimate goal is to become a nurse (RN) down the road.

Specializes in acute care.

I didn't find the course to be difficult at all. I did find the skills portion to be nerve racking because you need to be good at the skill (esp. bed making) in order to pass the state exam. Take it with A&P, you will be fine.

Im taking a corse now. It won't be hard since yours meets once a week, more time to study. What you really have to study for are skills. Learn as much as you can when you do clinicals. Once you fail the state exam you have to pay again to take over what you failed. you get 3 chances.

Good luck
