How To Include Baby For The Consular Interview

Published

I have always found allnurses very informative and my daily companion as I go through our visa processing. Thanks very much to Suzanne and a lot of helpful people here who never hesitate to help and share their infos.

Im in a quandary now because I have no idea what to do about my situation. You see, Im due to deliver my baby any day now and scheduled for consular interview on the 11th of July. What do I have to do in order for my baby to also obtain a Visa considering that he wasnt included yet when I sent our application to NVC, hence, he doesnt have the appointment letter like the rest of my family does.

I'd be very grateful for your answers. Thanks in advance!!!

In the website of the us embassy in manila, under immigrant visas, you will find a section on following to join derivative, here's the website - http://usembassy.state.gov/manila/wwwh3226.html - there is also a number you can call - The Immigrant Visa Information Call Center which can be reached at 1-909-101-7878 is available Monday to Friday, 8 am to 6 pm (Philippine Time). The call may be expensive, like 50 pesos per minute, but they may be able to answer your specific inquiry. Hope this helps. Good luck!

NurseBliss, thanks very much for your reply. Its greatly appreciated! yes, I browsed the website and gained lots of info there. I will call them the moment I deliver. Again, thanks!

Anyone else who have personal experience with the same situation as mine and how did you go about doing it? Thanks again!

^This is a unique situation Jen and have no personal knowledge of such a case. I just hope that thye process won't be too strict but may take a bit of your time. But I guess that would be ok for now as you need to focus first on having a safe delivery.

Please keep us updated on both you, the baby and his/her visa. Hoping for the best. All shall be well.

We finally got our Visa 5 days ago! Even my baby got his, too!:balloons: What I did was just tried to complete my baby's documents like his passport and birth cert on security paper in time for the interview, brought him to St. Lukes for the medicals and finally to the consular interview.

On the day of the consular interview, I was even spared of queuing up the line to get my number because the moment we got inside the section where immigrant visas where being processed, one employee (maybe she was a floor supervisor or something...) noticed my baby on the stroller so she immediately asked for my letter of appointment, my baby's DS 230 and his birth cert and she was the one to get the processing number for us. It was during the pre-interview stage that I was asked to pay for my baby's Visa fee. We even finished early ( by 10:30 and we arrived there 7:30 for our 8:30 appointment) because our process was expedited because of the baby.

To everyone who gave their advice and assurance, thank you so much, especially to NurseBliss, Daning and Nurse Dependent!

I will call them the moment I deliver

I'm sure your mind will be on other things at that time :lol2:

Cheers

OG
