How did you take your prerequisites

Published

Hello,

I am pursuing my RN. In what order should I take these courses. My advisor is no help.

I will take 2 classes a semester:

-Biology

-A&P

-Micro

-Math

-Chm 1 and Chm

Generals needed:

-Literature

-Language

-Computer course

Thanks

Check with whatever school you are taking the prereqs at, they may have prereqs before you can get into those classes, or you may be able to test out of some (hopefully-but wouldn't hold my breath) Basic Bio and Basic chem were prereqs at my school before i could even take anatomy and phys, and definitely before i could take Micro. I took anatomy and phys together, i liked it that way-what one teacher didn't explain that well the other did, but a lot of other people said they are to hard together. so maybe take one of them with the computer class if you are computer savvy

Same with the Math if you are a math wiz, then take it with one of the harder classes. basically make 2 columns, one with the subjects you find easy, one for the ones you dont, take one from each column each term, that way your not overwhelmed.

Good Luck!

math and computer

biology and chm 1

chm2 and language

A&P and Lit

Micro

or if you have 16 week fall and winter and 8 week summer terms:

Fall: math and biology

Spring: chm 1 and computer

Summer: chm 2

Fall: A&P and language

Spring: Micro and Lit

This is assuming you mean English composition when you say language.

I'd be okay with switching the A&P and the Micro. A little less willing to take Chem 2 last instead of Micro... chem 1 is usually enough, so I'd do that to get a good schedule or good profs.

If I was taking the computer only because it was required, I'd be okay with switching computer with language or lit.

Math will help with chm and I want the A&P and Micro to follow the chem as closely as possible.

Biology is helpful for A&P but it doesn't matter as much as chem how long before the A&P it is taken.

The chems, A&P, Micro are all heavy classes, if I had a choice I'd spread them out.
