How did you prove yourself?

I need to figure out a plan B if I DON'T get in to nursing school anywhere this year.

For those of you who didn't get in the first time around, what did you do to prepare to re-apply?

My pre-req gpa is a 4.0, but this is my 2nd time around in school. When I graduated with my bachelors degree (different field - non science) in '07, I had a 2.65-2.9 or so, depending on the way each school calculates gpa. What can I do to show the kind of student I am now?

Keep your post-bac grade point average at a 4.0, that says lots. You also should apply to schools that take the entire applicant into consideration (as opposed to a school that just makes cuts based on GPA and test scores.

I think this is sound advice. The only other thing I can think of is if you retook some of the classes you received less than desirable final grades for. Of course, you would have to take those courses at the same school you graduated from in order to boost your GPA quickly.

Also, take a look at programs that require lower GPA's. There are accelerated BSN program that accept student with 2.5 and 2.75 GPA's. You just have to do your research.
