Hi everyone,
I am pursuing my LVN right now and will transfer to LVN-BSN route next year. I am not sure if there is a LVN-MSN for CA online (would be nice) but my question is, How is it possible for FNP to do courses online? I may not understand this fully and thought that they have to have patient care practice.
I worked as a MA for an OBGYN- FNP and she did all the general PAPS, etc... How did they practice this and many other situations that have direct patient contact?
Sorry if its a dumb question, just wanted to know how they learn all this online or if its through being an RN you learn this.
Also, Do FNP work in Hospital settings (Surgery, ICU, ER) or just in offices?

Online FNP programs have all of the classwork online but you have to find preceptors in your local area to actually do clinicals at. Some online programs have a set list of places you do clinicals at, others you have to find your own clinical location but they have to be approved by the school. Most online programs have anywhere from 700-900 direct patient care clinical hours.
Thanks so much. That helps!!!
