How is a OTA program compared to nursing school?

Published

I failed nursing school and now I’m exploring allied health. If anyone is a OTA can you tell me truthfully how was the difficulty. In terms of how much reading and studying. Were the exams difficult? Is a occupational therapist assistant program difficult? Is the schooling the same or more difficult than nursing?

College is hard. It doesn't matter if it's nursing, OT, physics, music... It's a lot of reading and studying, difficult exams where you have to apply everything you're learning, and it's going to take up way too much of your free time. Going to be an OTA won't be an easy way out, but it might be an easier type of care for you to learn. We all have different strengths and interests. I'd figure out what yours really are before going back for anything.
