I am interviewing in 2 weeks for a nursing position on Med/Surg at Northwestern Memorial and hopefully with Rush, too. I am a new grad and will be relocating to Chicago if all goes well.
I know the cost of living in chicago is up there for a decent, safe, pet-friendly neighborhood, especially if it's an apartment near an El. I am trying to figure, approximately, what my hourly wage will be so I can begin some number crunching now.

The starting wage at both NMH and Rush is 23.40. I work at NMH, you get a shift differential for nights and weekends of like 5 I think. I don't know if you get one at Rush. Good luck!! The move almost wiped me out financially, so you better be saving or debt free now. Its worth it though, fun city.

Hi Raindrop,
I just moved to Lincoln Park less than a month ago for my program. I have a lincoln park relocation guide and I will quote you some prices for the area.
I live less than a half a block from the actual park, right near the lake and I love it. I am a six minute walk down fullerton to the El but, there are busses that run right down clark if I wanted to have the stop and go but, so far I don't mind the walk to the el.
In the guide it lists rents for
studio from $700-1400. one bedroom from $875-2000. two bedroom from 1300-3000 and three bedroom from 1800 to 5000.
I am in a studio with all utilities included for 695. a month.
If you are interested in the relocation and neighborhood information guide it is from the lincoln park chamber of commerce and the url to reach them is http://www.lincolnparkchamber.com
good luck!
